Triple Bill: Karen Porkka, Shannon Lyon, Dana Wylie - in Studio 96

We know you love cool venues and good music, so we've come up with this:

A triple bill of fabulous musicians
in a fantastic, 100-year old heritage space.

Think of this night as a season opener of sorts!

This event takes places in Studio 96, a church built in 1914.
The real Streetcar Shows start in May, after Victoria Day.
We'll keep you posted on our website.

Tonight we present three outstanding musicians with distinct styles:

Karen Porkka, Edmonton
She sings with a powerful and versatile voice, she loops, she blows the sax, improvising, playing originals, twisting and bending standards. Her style lives anywhere between jazz, ethnic, and everything unconventional.

Shannon Lyon, traveller, on his way to Ontario

A deep voice you’ll never forget and tunes that stay with you. He has a cool and catchy vintage pop-rock sound and many, many poignant and perky songs. Currently touring his new cd ‘Lost Creek’.

Dana Wylie, Edmonton
She has a voice that grabs, embraces, and floors you. With that voice and her fluid finger-style guitar playing, she creates a unique musical language that spans from roots to pop to folk to jazz.

Studio 96
is the former St Stephen's Church on Edmonton's charming Church Street. A few years ago E3 architecture bought the then empty building, saving it from decay or demolition. It's now in use as a thriving architect's office and event venue. The church is built in the same era as the High Level Bridge and the streetcar (1914), and is bursting with atmosphere and beautiful acoustics.

This event is a collaboration between
Zizi Lievers, Edmonton Streetcar Shows, E3 Architecture, and Listen Louder Productions.
